About Ella Sophie
Ella Sophie’s debut in the L.A. music scene took place at the prestigious jazz venue Vibrato, where she was featured with Jason "Spicy G" Goldman's Grammy-winning big band for a "Night of the Great American Songbook."
She released her EP Almost Love in 2024, which she recorded at Tritone Recording with notable musicians Josh Nelson, Alex Frank and Ryan Shaw. She celebrated the launch with a successful show at Sam First, one of L.A.'s renowned jazz bars. Ella returned to Sam First with her quintet in May of 2025.
Ella's performance credentials extend beyond intimate venues. In 2024, she joined the West Coast Jazz Hour Big Band as a featured vocalist at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Culver City, where the group celebrated jazz legends Terry Gibbs and Shorty Rogers as part of Ruth Price's The Jazz Bakery concert series.
Ella has also performed at events such as the annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival in south LA and at a Sammy Cahn tribute concert for the Newport Beach Jazz Society. Additionally, Ella has been featured at corporate events for USC, including celebrations for the Keck School of Medicine and Marshall Business School at luxury venues such as the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills.
In 2021, Ella graduated with First Class Honors in Jazz Performance from Victoria University in New Zealand. She also served as an artist teacher at the university, where she taught jazz vocal improvisation and jazz keyboard skills to undergraduates.
